In creating this website a small issue arose that I'd like to share with you, and to explain the final decision made on the matter. Both throughout his life, and even up until today, the honorific of "Master" has always been applied to Jou Tsung Hwa. However, a growing trend has come to our attention wherein via magazine articles and the internet people have begun to "posthumously" refer to him as "Grandmaster." This begged the question during site construction: do we use the title he was always known by or go with the new trend?

The reality is that, to those of us who knew him, he will always be "Master Jou." However, when viewing all of his accomplishments, his intense and continuous training, his incredible level of taiji skill and his all consuming dedication to the art... the title of "Master" does seem a little less than adequate description. Of course, were he still alive to offer an opinion, Master Jou would simply say, "too much talk, not enough practice," and go back to playing taiji! Knowing that alone helped decide the issue. Thus, if only for the purpose of this memorial website, we bestow on Jou Tsung Hwa the title he most certainly earned and deserves in every sense of the word, the title of "Grandmaster."

On another note: To the friends of the Farm, if you have a website that makes mention of Grandmaster Jou or the Tai Chi Farm, won't you please consider providing a link to this site. The more links to this site, the greater status it may provide among some of the search engines and the sooner it will come to the fore when people do a search under either name. Please help us keep the flame burning. Thank you all.
